Dear Gentle Reader: Please forgive the digression, but this post is not about project failures.

Occasionally something comes along which I want to share.

As I’m sure you may know, John Coltrane was a jazz saxophonist active in the fifties and sixties. One of his great pieces is a song called Giant Steps, a wonderful and rapid flurry of musical color and sound.

Animation student, Michal Levy, created a short film bringing dance-like color and movement to Giant Steps. To see his description of the film, click here.

To see the film short itself, click here. Warning: it counts to 100 before it loads, but it’s worth the wait.
