The Web Services on Wall Street conference just wrapped up, and a summary can be found in this special edition (PDF format) of eWeek.

Among the highlights:

  • ESBs make better SOAs. Hub Vandervoort, vice president of strategic services, is quoted as saying that the enterprise service bus architecture represents "the best platform for building a large-scale SOA." He notes that ESBs enable more cost reduction, more agility, and "a more flexible architecture for handling rapid responses."
  • SeeBeyond Technology and Sun Microsystems announced a joint solution, SeeBeyond Financial Services SOA. The offering combines SeeBeyond’s ICAN Suite, which includes prepackaged components, with Sun’s Web services-enabled portal.
