Automatic for the people
IBM just announced new autonomic computing technologies that can be invoked by developers using Web services. The new technologies are available to developers at no cost, through the IBM alphaWorks Website. The two new autonomic technologies include "Policy Management for Autonomic Computing," an infrastructure tool that provides self-management and dynamic configuration capabilities.
Another feature, IBM Touchpoint Simulator, helps simplify the development and debugging of autonomic systems. According to IBM, the simulator implements the standard Autonomic Computing interfaces through simple Web services technologies (SOAP and WSDL) that are available to developers on all platforms.
