Rik Fairlie is a freelance technology journalist based in New York. Currently, all work that Rik does is on a contractural basis. His technology stories and reviews have been published on numerous Web sites and in publications that include CNET, ZDNet, PC Magazine, Computer Shopper, Mobile Computing, Frequent Flyer, and The New York Times. Rik has served as editor in chief of Computer Shopper and managing editor of Mobile Communications.

Rik has also written papers and internal communications documents for PricewaterhouseCoopers. He also wrote and edited the copy for ITGoesTogether.com, a Web service designed to help small companies design and publish business Web sites.

Rik does not accept gifts from companies he covers. All hardware products he writes about are purchased with his own funds or are review units covered under formal loan agreements and are returned after the review is complete.

Rik has a personal Web site but it does not display advertising.

Rik does not own stock in any technology companies.
