ISS Making enemies

Now ISS and Cisco are getting heavy handed. Read the “confidential fax that Richard Forno over at Infowarrior received.

ISS has obviously been engaging in some in-depth analysis of competitor’s products looking for vulnerabilities. There are other smaller firms that engage in this practice of research-for-publicity but this time one of ISS’s engineers has gotten in personal trouble over this practice. The legal accusations should be between the principals. This witch hunt is untenable.

Pandora’s box has been opened. My advice to Cisco. Fix your vulnerabilities and move on.
