Cloud Computing and Governance
My recent post concerning Layer 7 and dealing with regulatory compliance and overall governance issues in the Cloud (see Layer 7 Application Services Governance) seems to have hit an industry nerve. I’ve read and received comments from all over the place.
It appears that quite a number of suppliers including Sun, Univa UD, WebLayers and many others have announced products, services or programs that target the need for better control of Cloud computing environments.
On the one hand, this indicates that significant workloads are likely to be hosted in a Cloud environment. On the other, it indicates that a great deal more work needs to be done to deal with all of the thorny issues faced by the largest organizations or organizations in regulated markets
As I speak with some of these suppliers, I’ll let you know what they have to say. Are there questions you’d like me to have them answer?
