Recently Parallels launched a new version of Parallels Plesk Panel 9. This is one of the most broadly deployed tools helping hosting companies deliver services to their customers. This is a key component of cloud computing as well.

How Parallels describes Plesk Panel 9

Parallels Plesk Panel is the leading hosting automation control panel on the market.

User-friendly and with multiple login roles that cater to all users, the Parallels Plesk Panel can have your hosting business up and running in no time.

Easy - Eliminate the complexities of managing servers. The Parallels Plesk Panel provides an easy to learn interface while maintaining a simple look and feel. Navigation through the panel is simple and allows you to find and complete even the most cumbersome tasks quickly and efficiently.

Profitable - Give yourself access to more. The Parallels Plesk Panel is the only panel which offers the direct availability of hundreds of applications for your end users. With terrific add-ons like Parallels Plesk Billing for your invoicing or Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder for your website editing and management — you can truly offer an all in one solution to your customers.

Complete - Run your business efficiently. Parallels Plesk Panel users will benefit from a new level of integration with other Parallels products, including Parallels Plesk Billing, which eliminates the need for third party software. With full customization to suit your needs, the Parallels Plesk Panel will let you focus on running your business.

What’s new?

Parallels has done extensive research on how customers use Plesk Panel and have redone the user interface to make the product easier to use and to reduce user confusion. They’ve also made it possible for people to use the Postfix mail server rather than Qmail.

Snapshot analysis

Although many suppliers are speaking about cloud computing and the glowing future that approach offers, only a few talk about the back-end tools that would allow a hosting company to make it possible for customers to select needed features, order them and then manage the resulting IT infrastructure. Parallels is one of the few suppliers have a highly scalable, easy to use and cost-effective offering.

Parallels Plesk also has the possibility of being an important component of an in-house cloud as well.
