Seesmic Desktop delivers seamless Facebook integration
Seesmic Desktop version 0.2 launched and finally integrates Facebook status right along side Twitter updates, and the interface is consistent (Techmeme).
I recently switched to Tweetie for Mac, but this release of Seesmic Desktop already works better. Reading both updates from Facebook and Twitter look the same, unless someone shares rich media on Facebook. You can unfollow and follow people on Twitter, favorite and “like” updates, and even post photos from your webcam.
AIR-based desktop clients like this are quickly replacing websites. I can’t think of the last time I visited Twitter.com. A new standard ad size could be created with so many skinny one-column desktop web widgets floating around users screens now.
The first iteration of Seesmic Desktop was weak, but now I will give it a try. The only downside for me is that it’s ugly. I kinda wish it worked like Seesmic-owned Twhirl and you could change the design.
UPDATE: I am seeing a lot of duplicate content because a lot of people pull their Twitter status into Facebook.

This may cause me to switch back to Tweetie, and just miss the Facebook updates until someone finds a solution for this.
